ich habe vor vielen Jahren deine CD Covers (Bass bei Al) in Innsbruck geklebt.
Viele CD Covers wurden danach geklebt, aber beim kleben war immer nur einen CD im Player, Deine!
Jahre sind vergangen aber noch immer hatte ich es im Ohr, jetzt habe ich bei Ebay eine CD von Dir ersteigert und was kam....? Die gute bei BWC verpackte CD und die läuft gerade im Hintergrund, während ich die Zeilen schreibe.
Es erfreut mein Leben im Moment und das ist das was zählt

Well! Wow. Not quite sure what to say, Al... I guess I'll just start by saying this first cut from "Trust", which you currently have playing here on the site is a great song - very nice job. I have to tell you, that first solid C# bass note just slays me... What a >great< tone you got out of your instrument! I just love that sound... Looking forward to hearing more, and waiting (admittedly, somewhat impatiently) for all of it to become available. Wishing you well with your music and in your every endeavor.

The show with Slava and Leonard at the Clarendon was truly amazing. Continental Shift is fantastic, and as you said, there are clear links with this album and your work with Slava on Farewell. Yet another Sydney person to drop in and say the Belew gig at the Basement was awesome, made even better by fantastic bass playing by Al! Hey Al, if you remember a bass player near the back bar asking you lots of questions about your bass and Stick, that was me. I was so inspired by your playing that night that I bought a 2nd hand 10-string Stick and it finally arrived a few days ago. Man, I have a lot to learn, but it is sooo cool! Cheers!

I thought I was the only one hallucinating after hearing you play with Belew at the Corner Hotel. But thanks to Lucy (hi Lucy, whoever you are), I also discovered that wonderful video evidence that proves your existance beyond a shadow of doubt. It's great to hear that bass solo again. I thought they were drummed into extinction through abuse & overuse in the 70's but somehow you still get away with it AND with such raunchy flair and unique style. As far as the devilish debate goes, I'd agree that you have satanic powers, except that you sound so heavenly it can't be possible. I believe Heaven has a restraining order out against the Devil anyway.
Angel or devil, who cares? Just keep playing Al. This shakey planet needs all those earthshaking, heart thumpingly good vibes you transmit. More please!

MISSION: To seek out & enjoy the man who plays guitar like Albert Einstein on acid, the ecclectic & innovative Mr.Adrian Belew.
OFFICIAL REPORT: Mission accomplished.....but with a twist!
I was expecting to be blown away by Belew and I surely was. What I didn't expect was to be awestruck by his bass player. Your performance that night(especially that bass solo!) turned an otherwise fantastic gig into a magical adventure of light and shade that was so dynamically different, I LITERALLY could not believe my ears! If I hadn't stumbled across a web site who somehow managed to capture a precious slice of that very same solo, l'd still think that it was just a dream cos you're too good to be true. But at last I have video evidence to prove that it wasn't just Lucys' lucid dreaming or even an haLUCYnation as my friends suspected when I tried to describe my adventure in Slavikland, the most secretly surprising kingdom of them all. The good news is that I'm NOT going insane - the bad news is that the clip isn't long enough - I need more! Is there any more of that footage out there? Or any live albums? You owe it to me, kind Sir. I'm hooked on your hooks and like a junkie, I need another hit. Whatever it is you do Al, the way you weave voo doo with that enchanted stick of yours, keep doing it......and as soon as possible please. I'm hanging out & need to score!

Watching Gardening Australia a couple of weeks back there was a story about bushfire plants (i.e. plants regenerating after fire) and I heard bits of a song I recognised! It was "Cruising" from Continental Shift. Nice work! :-)
